Creativity is the essence of everything.
A
droplet of smooth black ink... A splatter of cool, thick paint...
And the eye forever sees the world differently.
Since
I was very small I have called myself a writer.
Truth and fiction spills out from my pen onto paper
and
suddenly I understand.
The
world is full of noise. Words help me make sense of it. Very
often I scribble words or ideas into a notebook. Usually somewhere
on my person you will find paper.
Prose is my favorite writing style. Though I find writing
research papers and short stories equally riveting.
Most importantly writing shakes the words out.
Writing
for self or the public is a matter of decision. Just pull
the stopper and let words flow. Outcomes are sure to follow.
Painting
is a creative outlet I have recently discovered for myself.
Throughout my life I have vicariously studied art through
my dad and brother. Art shows and museums have frequently
been part of my existence.
Then
I married artist Lloyd
Matthew Thompson. He came with his own paint box and art
shows. Vivid conversations with him helped me realize how
much I know about artists, art, and mediums. How much I love
it!
It
was only a matter of time before I picked up a paintbrush
too. Since then, I wear one tucked behind my ear. Pictures
have another way to form from the fountain of my thoughts.
Alas,
I have arrived! <3
